KKETS Research

The research department supports KKETS' work in providing culturally relevant initiatives and programs in education, training and employment through an advanced research programme.

KKETS takes a wholistic approach to research that includes the use of First Nations methodologies, community driven approaches, implementation science, and program evaluation underpinned by the principles of relationality, cultural integrity, self-determination, and equity.

The research programme maximizes the potential benefits to support evidence-based decision-making in program development, design, and implementation to address underlying determinants of education, training and employment gaps.

The research priority areas are:
  • Climate change, sustainability, and food security
  • Culture and language
  • Energy and infrastructure
  • Wellness
