About the ILMI

KKETS Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ISETS) program has partnered with the Aboriginal Employment Services (AES) to deliver the ILMI surveys to on and off Matawa community members. This initiative is funded by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

The survey will collect, store and analyse Labour Market Information (ILM) in the 8 Matawa communities of Aroland FN, Constance Lake FN, Eabametoong FN, Ginoogaming FN, Marten Falls FN, Neskantaga FN, Nibinamik FN and Webequie FN.

The information gathered will focus on the current employment and skills of community members, their past employment and educational experiences, and their future career interests relating to training and employment.

Taking the Survey

For successful completion of the survey there are three requirements:
  • Participants must be 16 years of age and older,
  • proof of enrollment in their community (e.g., status card), and
  • SIN card for future employment opportunities through the ILM.

The survey takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. Participants can choose to fill it out either on paper or online, with or without the assistance of a surveyor. If completing the survey online please follow the steps provided below for an emailed survey.
The survey is confidential, community members information such as their name, date of birth and contact details will not be shared publicly.

Please note that these reports will contain aggregate data only. This means all identifying information such as the participants’ name, age, contact information will be removed. An example of aggregate date includes completion rates, demographics and labour force statistics around employment and education.

Survey Results

The results of the survey will inform service providers such as KKETS to address specific needs of the community and provide supportive data when applying for other sources of funding for programming.

AES prepares and shares reports to participating Matawa communities and Employment and Social Development Canada. The data will be accessible through the ILMI database that holds all participants’ data and is limited to the AES technical support, surveyors such as KKETS and other local ILMI project members as approved by the participating Matawa communities.

Register for the survey by clicking on the Registration link and filling out the form. A survey will be emailed to you shortly after.
Those who have completed the survey will receive $10 (via direct deposit) along with an entry to the $500 community year-end draw.

Alternatively, you can email Graeme Bouchard at gbouchard@matawa.on.ca

Please include ILMI and your band name in the subject line and full name, contact information and a copy of your status card in the email body. KKETS looks forward to your engagement in the ILMI survey. Miigwech.
